We just returned from a blissful vacation in the Lower Florida Keys where we got to do some snorkeling at Looe Key and Newfound Harbor Marine Sanctuary areas as well as sightseeing in the backcountry thanks to boats from Big Pine Key Boat Rentals.
We have rented boats from Maya at Big Pine Key Boat Rentals three times in the past few years – each time extremely impressed with the boats and the excellent, friendly service that Maya and Big Pine Key Boat Rentals provide. The boats are well maintained, well equipped, and Maya and her staff assist with matching the right boat for us based on sea conditions and are readily available to answer any questions we’ve had and give excellent advice that has greatly enhanced our boating experiences in the Keys. We didn’t know about Newfound Harbor Marine Sanctuary area until Maya told us about it last year – it is a way cool snorkeling site, and easier to get to if it’s a bit too rough to get to / snorkel at Looe Key.

Over the past 3 years, we have rented boats from Big Pine Key Boat rentals multiple times and _highly_ recommend them. Maya and her staff are wonderful! The boats are well maintained and well equipped, Maya and her staff always give us great advice on the best places to boat in the area for what we’re looking for. They help us select the best boat for the conditions we’re going out in, and provide great equipment that make our boating safe, comfortable, and fun!!! They’ve helped prevent uncomfortable not-so-fun trips by advising us on days when the wind / sea states would make for an unpleasant trip – we greatly appreciate that – it means so much to have the great insight of locals! Their boats come with Garmin GPS units and they provide recreational charts and great advice that help keep us well oriented and help us safely navigate around the lower keys. Their boats start every time and run great which gives us the confidence to head out to Looe Key for Awesome snorkeling and diving! They have locations at both Big Pine Key and Summerland Key which make getting to the boat very convenient. They’re very responsive and accommodating, working with us for convenient pick up and drop off times. If you’re looking to rent a boat in the Lower Keys, we can’t recommend Big Pine Key Boat Rentals highly enough!!! Thank you Maya, and Travis, for another wonderful experience boating, snorkeling, and diving in the keys this year!!! We wouldn’t have seen some of the way cool sights (Goliath Groupers hanging out under our boat at Looe Key!) that we’ve been able to see and experience without your advice!
